What problem & for whom
For whom: Anyone who has ever watched a film and thought: I want to live inside these colors.
Problem: Some films are not just stories. They are a color language. And those colors are impossible to find unless you already know where to look.
This: Pick a film. Get its palette and the hex codes. One input, one output. Done.
The iteration
The first layout put everything vertical on both desktop and mobile, leaving most of the screen empty. I fixed that. Then I added copy, download, and an animation on the dropdown to pull the user's attention to where the experience starts. Small adjustments. All of them in service of making the flow feel obvious.
What AI could and couldn't do
The empty state took several prompts to get right. The AI kept generating a skeleton that looked nothing like the real output, which defeated the purpose. Once it matched, the whole experience clicked. I knew the AI had understood the project when it suggested Her for the film list. That one wasn't mine.
Minimum viable effort
One input, one output. Pick a film, get its colors. The only job of every other decision was to not get in the way.
